An update to the personal post

Called Toronto Health who said I should be good to come home to visit my grandfather. Work gave me the time off. The flights were expensive but worth it. I'm renting a car this time because I can. Do you think I'll actually get a Charger, or is it going to be significantly more lame?

I wouldn't get your hopes up, but a base rental-spec charger isn't much to get excited about. I've had them before, they remind me of a crown vic.

@smallbear Exactly. When my 5-series was in the shop years ago, Hertz 'Premier' found an equivalent car for me - a Mitsubishi Diamante.

@jb-boin leather is overrated UNLESS it is red. But the Charger despite being ancient is indeed a good car (though less so in V6 rental trim). It is probably one of the better things you can get from the rental counter.

I think the rentals companies have plenty of Chargers, Challengers, and 300s that your chances are pretty good.

I videoed accelerating a Scat Pack Charger rental across the Newark Bay bridge in New Jersey. I'll see if I can find it on my phone.

@longtime-lurker I used to get a lot of rental cars for work, but they'd never give me the challenger even if I asked! And this was often a rental to visit the assembly plant where they were made at that (not that the rental guy knew that)
