And there was much rejoicing
-
My only regret is that I didn’t do this last week, so I could go to an off-road park today like I’d planned.
Thanks to everyone who chimed in last night.
-
Love the smell of new tires in the morning.
-
@just-jeepin oo, they look good!
-
@just-jeepin How many miles on yours again?
-
wooo
-
Looking good!

Beefy. It's a good look.
-
@just-jeepin I have a few WJ's on the list with similar mileage but TBH, I am scared shitless of making a huge mistake and buying a lemon lol
-
@just-jeepin letters out?
-
Very nice. Time to get them dirty.
-
@just-jeepin good choice! There's nothing like fresh meats.
-
Those are great looking tires. Like I said in the other thread, I wanted to like them. As long as you have the right load range, they should treat you well for years.
-
How is the road noise? Eventually I'll have to put new tires on my wife's 4x4 Grand Vitara. It has all-seasons on it now (no idea of the brand). It's highly unlikely she'll do any actual off-roading in it. Dirt roads and ice/snow are distinct possibilities, but I don't want to make it overly noisy going down the highway either.
-
@italia I'm normally inas well but for some reason letters-out works here, maybe it's the white paint.
-
@pyroholtz @Italia I was conflicted, but in the end it boiled down to practicality over aesthetics: the specifications are on the same sidewall as the white lettering, and after crawling under the WJ when I bought it to try to find the DOT code to figure out how old they were, I decided I'd prioritize putting those on the outside.
And the white does indeed seem to go ok with the white Jeep, so I'm fine with it.

I've only driven a couple of miles on them, so I don't have any definite answer, but I didn't notice anything harsher than before. I'll be driving a few hours tomorrow to a cabin I'm renting, so I'll have more of a sense of it soon.
On the other hand, I'm pretty oblivious, so I'm not sure I'll be able to judge unless it's dramatically worse.
-
@mocamino road noise is noticable for sure but doesn't bother me too much.
-
@just-jeepin I'm curious to hear your review especially on road noise.
Those might be too aggressive for my Ram but damn that would look good.
Raised white letters ftw.
-
@derpwagon They're D1, which should be fine. I went with an E-rated tire on my Wrangler, which oof those are pretty harsh. Not sure I'll do that next year when I replace those.
-
@vondon302 I'm not confident I'll be able to accurately compare road noise, since I've only had this Jeep a few weeks now, but I'll report back.

Speaking as someone who made a huge mistake and bought a lemon the first time around: it's still in my driveway, and I still love it.
-
@highlander I'm taking the next few days to get out of town, renting a cabin at a state park, so I'll be hitting stream crossings and dirt roads as much as I can.
-
@just-jeepin
Those look like they will do really well in snow. -
@just-jeepin Yeah, I just need to make sure my wife loves it. lol
