Trying to figure out how to get the Fiero out of the grass by myself
-
The dog is no help. -
Tow strap and another car not an option?
-
Drink until you wake up and the Fiero got moved... somehow.
-
@mastermario not really at the angle it’s at from the house. I’d be cutting it close.
-
You could try this, but I don't recommend it.......
-
@interstate366 comealong?
-
@HammerheadFistpunch I have a preferred alternative to cable come-alongs, and that is to use a chain "engine hoist"/ratchet puller.
Essentially a chain come-along with no chance of cable cuts, spool binding, and all the thousand other miseries that come with the typical cable come-along. Downsides: heavy, slow, and can only take up about 6' at a time unless you replace the chain. "Oh no", he said. "How will I manage".

@ramblinrover I do like those. I do the same basic idea with my hilift, a little sketchier, but it gets the got done and safe if you aren't lazy.
-
One thing about using the puller, is that unlike a come-along, you can wind your victim along by turning the handle in complete circles. So it isn't necessarily slower than a cable come-along
-
I guess it depends on how many times you need to move it. A 2 ton come along is $20, or for $89 you can get this neat ATV winch from Harbor Freight.
If the car has a battery you can probably rig this to the front tow hooks with some straps and then sling out the winch like Spider-Man and winch your way around town. Main street light poles are perfect anchors.
-
Let it rust in to the lawn, then mow the lawn with bagging.

I mean, he can lift his leg and lubricate the tires for you I suppose.
-
@chariotoflove I’m almost positive he already has

Good boi!

On boats they are called Handy Billies. 2 sets of blocks (pulleys) with a line (rope) wound in them. Each block (except the 1st) doubles force applied to that of the line puller. My mainsheet uses a 5-to-1 setup, 3 on deck, 2 on the boom. One hand can easily move a ton of air-filled mainsail. A 1/2" Halyard with blocks would move this car fairly easily if you can mount them solidly at both ends.
-
@interstate366 did you try putting your back into it?
-
Defeat neutral safety switch. Pop into gear, turn key and let the starter do the grunt work.
-
A few strong friends, and push? they're really light. I've pushed mine uphill, alone (granted on pavement), with just my shoulder on the door jamb, to be able to roll back down to start it.
-
@jrapp I could do it with one other person, honestly. It’s how it got there in the first place. The main issue is that the right rear is in a bit of a hole.
-
@interstate366 Jack it up a bit, put something flat under it?
