      Finally.

      https://www.yahoo.com/finance/news/gm-must-recall-5-9-143423850.html

My wife's 2007 Yukon has had a "preliminary" recall for this for years. But a preliminary recall is basically, "we are warning you about a potential issue, but we don't think this is serious enough to warrant a recall at this point."

Meaning, you won't get to have your airbags replaced.

I am glad it's finally happening, thought they really dragged their feet on this one.

Bullet once again dodged for my '06!

Hopefully you won't have to wait forever and a day for parts to get yours replaced.

Hey, you can trust GM. It only took four years and three replacement bags to fix mine.

@shop-teacher Funny thing is, I actually called about the "preliminary" recall last week. I have a "service airbag" warning and was hoping to have them fix that and replace the airbag.

Looks like they still haven't officially issued the recall though since the latest on GMs recall website still shows the original one from 2016

@dr-zoidberg Well, did you really expect GM to know what they are doing on a Toyota?

@mastermario Yeah, these things don't move fast.

GM has refused to recall all of the wiper transmissions from the previous gen Equinox. They've only recalled the 2013 model year. Despite failing wiper transmissions being a problem on all of the years of that generation. That's the only problem my father-in-law has had with his. Of course it failed in the middle of a bad storm, and blinded him while driving. Thankfully he was in the right lane, and managed to pull off the road without hitting anything.

A DAY MAY COME when Takata's airbags stop making the headlines... but it is not this day.
