Far Side Tuesday

Two legs good.

This is fantastic

That video of the cougar chasing the guy for 6 minutes definitely makes it look like it's doing wheelies.
And pretty sure my cats sometimes do a little hop thing when they start running.
Maybe humans are the weird ones, always doing wheelies.

This always makes me double take and check my calendar.

@ttyymmnn There's a setting in your profile that changes the behavior to watch (and get notified) to any post you create or reply to.
-
A reply will only @ you if it's made in direct reply to you. If a comment is just made to the thread, like mine was, it doesn't @ you. Was that what you were asking?
-
@chariotoflove Yes. Seems to me that all comments in a thread should be @ the OP, but I guess not.

Actually, I think because we don't get nested threads in conversation, it's a good idea to include some amount of quote of the person to whom you are replying. That's the standard behavior to keep things from getting too confusing in the linear BB setup. I just got out of the habit with Kinja.
Just saw Jordan's long post, and it seems to me you can probably do most of your long form posts as it stands now. I hope it gets easier though.
-
@chariotoflove So, how did you do that?

Oh I just read your TDIAH post. Looks pretty good.
How did I do that? Instead of hitting "Reply" to your comment, I hit "Quote". Then, the two sided window pops up with the text from your comment in the edit window. I can modify your quote to abbreviate it or leave it whole and then add my reply below it. The preview window on the right shows you how it will appear when you submit. Here is a screen shot of me typing this reply.

I think I'm doing it right? Thanks.

Yep, and you can remove text from the editing window to control how much of the previously quoted material you carry over, like this. You can keep the entire conversation train or cut it down. If you have a long exchange though, eventually you will reach the maximum number of nested quotes you can include. It helps keep conversations in order though.
