audi. oil filter housing is on top. [apprentice] replaced the filter, went to the sitter, came back and filled it with oil.
Car came in on a tow truck coworker went to try to start it to bring it in. All I heard was a massive bang. Popped the hood and saw this. Idk why it came in on a hook but it's probably trash now. Might tear into it and see what else is damaged
The customer put a fuel filter rated for a carburated fuel system (gravity fed, maybe up to 8 psi with a lift pump) on his Kawasaki Mule that is fuel injected (~45 PSI). The OEM line was pre-formed plastic and had the soft hose slid over the non barbed plastic, same on either side of the universal filter. He came in with a running issue and lack of power under load... probably from flow restriction. Strangely that only began after his "upgrade". He refused to allow a new fuel line to be ordered for diagnosis and safety. I was amazed the lines never blew off and burnt the thing down.
...it spun up straight and was only 1.5 oz off.
As it turns out he hit the "bump" yesterday and had been driving it around. He only noticed due to the massive wound to the hood. 92 Sl320 with 67K
Literal puddles in the foot wells too lol

My boss brought in some "O.E." Honda solenoids that a vendor was selling for dirt cheap. Me being skeptical, grabbed them to inspect. To my surprise, they looked pretty darn good, until I noticed the cap of the solenoid said DESNO instead of DENSO...
To be fair there was no spare under the deer.
...it's a jag from 97
...customer said it's been sitting a few years. Dosent quite explain what ever that is.
I flushed the system as best I could but it seems that it's all in the wp. The thermo was fine radiator was fine all hoses were good.

The mounting bracket itself rusted off of the frame, just bad enough that the customer declined to fix it yesterday
Edit: they're scheduling time now to get that fixed uphttps://old.reddit.com/r/Justrolledintotheshop/comments/jwev4w/customer_was_only_in_for_a_battery_light_didnt/
...only damage was the trunk lid, rear bumper and rear window. The bends you see in the quarter panels are just body lines and bad lighting.
And a techs box got hit pretty good.
This is not the obligatory brake post you're looking for...
It was sitting on the showroom floor of a dealership in Memphis Tennessee when the dealership closed. They left the car there at the dealership and it has sat there since...
...this car is for sale as I asked the technical advisor why he declined the belt replacement but not brakes & tires
They are interference engine...
Ohio. Owner just bought it...

Pinion seal was leaking for a long time. Got low enough on fluid that the pinion seized and then exploded.
Rear bumper, 2020 GMC Sierra 1500. The truck color is Pacific Blue Metallic so I guess the description is accurate
Holy shit I didn’t even see [BULID DATE]
I hate it when that happens

I had just repainted my race hauler. First trip out with it. I swapped driving with the wife and fell asleep. I woke up when we got off the highway. I did see the line painting- didn’t think about it. When we got to the race, the wheel arch- step&running board and the front of the box (85 GMC cube van) were covered in rubbery reflective yellow paint-that lasted years. I DIDNT DO IT! she swears... to this day even!
