      Scrolling through fb market place I found this Avalanche with a topper. I don’t know if I’ve ever seen that before. 44696DE4-4A8C-4611-9918-A0395B091117.jpeg 5E2E5ACC-B2D4-4B7B-B801-A82A08FDA547.jpeg 45504256-1274-4866-9A3E-12EFA622FAC7.jpeg

          Joking aside, Avalanches are kinda attractive, wouldn't mind a clean first gen

            Yeah, came here to say "isn't that just a Suburban with extra steps?"

              I used to see them occasionally. It’s one of those things where if it were driving past you’d typically miss it because your brain just processes it as a Suburban.
              I’d seriously consider a 3/4 ton without the cladding and a big block. Gas mileage be damned!

                @hfv The Cadillac versions were the best. Hopefully, the hummer ev will result in a Cadillac version.

                  Funky. Never seen it done that way either, looks pretty good though. Those flares are awful, but think overall the GMT900s look better than the GMT800 models. The slickside 800s look better than the platicized 800s though. Too bad the 2500 series got dropped with the new chassis.

                    Same here, but get the rare 2500 with the big block 8.1 backed with an allison transmission.

                      @krustywantout I actually considered buying a Cadillanche. I found one in a rare pearlescent blue/purple color, and it had nice smaller aftermarket wheels, with a/t tires. It was prefect. But i didn’t pull the trigger. I really didn’t want to jump into a bigger car payment.

                        @looseonexit my friend has a post plastic first gen that literally can't die. It's a good truck for sure.

                          My mom's boy friend has a 2013 avalanche with the LTZ package, it's very nice. He just has a flat tonou cover but there is still quite a sizable bed back there.

                            @hfv I've seen a few. These are slightly less strange than the Subaru baja caps. At least these have a usable bed you can get at if you need

                                @krustywantout I am retiring my 04 caddylanche this week. 240k miles and no CEL. To bad it is so rusty. I will probably keep the truck around for farm use and a back up if necessary.

                                  @sony1492 Yeah, 1st gen for only a year or two, I want to say 2002-03 maybe? It was in the silveraldo 2-3500's too.

                                    @hfv I've seen it a couple times. I don't understand why one doesn't just get a Suburban then?

                                      @shop-teacher flexibility I guess. I suppose 90% of the time you’d want covered dry cargo space. But also 10% of the time you want an open cargo space.
                                      It’s a poor mans Envoy XUV C7633113-82CD-42F0-A94A-D13A4D16FBC1.png

                                        @hfv I guess.

                                        Although the Avalanche was more expensive than an Envoy XUV.
