@ttyymmnn New construction prevents getting an identical shot, but this is close to the same location and camera angle.

@musashi66 But with much better space efficiency than modern SUVs, family sedans were like limousines in the back

Ah the last days before the world went to war. How it all changed in 6 years......

@ranwhenparked Sure, because they had zero crush worthiness. They were thin metal boxes with windows - new ones are built like safes with windows.

@roadkilled I wonder if it was from a bit closer...

Yup. The older I get, the better the past looks.

@racinbob I tried getting closer, but the buildings on the left and the palm trees in the median blocked the view of the tower. It was the best landmark for aligning the views and I wanted a clear shot of it.

My map program lets me do a bird's eye view, but I can't get all the way to street level.

@ttyymmnn 39 Olds in the foreground, I think a 31 Chevy beside it, then it becomes tough. Parked across the street with a woman walking near it, front of the line, is maybe a 36-37 Packard.

@roadkilled Might be for the best, Google Earth lets you get in pretty close, but it's not pretty down there:

@musashi66 True, but some were built stouter than others, and Nash were somehow able to squeeze 600 miles out of a tank of gas in this beast.
