      Does Instagram embed here?

      The answer appears to be no. Anyway, Jobjoris, who was around old Oppo for a while, spotted this... thing.

                @cb Seems potentially less useful with a mid-engine... I'd just weld the rear doors shut on a Panamera and call it good...

                  @cb it's like a homemade looking Volvo C30.

                    @cb also, what's with the steel cage thing in the last pic? If that is indicative of the build quality I vote yuck.

                      @sovande This is a correct take. I was all in, thinking about selling a kidney and everything, until I saw that last picture.

                        @hillrat I think the side panels/windows at the rear fenders look goofy. The roll of the fender into the sheet metal doesn't do it for me. It looks like a cardboard box stuck on top a round car. They missed the subtle changes needed to make it look cohesive. The rear lights wrapping around the sides of the rear fenders makes the whole side profile look wonky to me. They stick out like a wedding dick. Adding the bracing thing in the back takes away from any additional room gained by the added metal work. So you end up with less than you started.

                        I like the color though.

                            @cb Idea of that car is everything that is holly in the car world. It sounds like something I'd give my kidney for.

                            Execution and look... not so much.

                              @hillrat IIRC, it's not a commercial effort but a school project. Relax ...

                                @darkbrador I wasn't the guy that gave the point by point takedown. I still think it looks cool and the explanation that it was a school project renders most criticism moot IMHO.

                                    @darkbrador why does he need to relax? He can certainly have an opinion about this absolute abortion of a car project where you take one thing of value and turn it into a thing with less value.

                                      @darkbrador I'm the guy. I think it's terrible. The fact that it's a school project makes it worse.

                                        doh! The inside of the hatch isn't quite as polished...

                                        Still, it's a great contribution to the right cause: reviving the Renalt Clio V6:
