I have participated in a heroic number of online meetings since March, and I have two tips to make your web meetings work.

1. Actually learn how to use the software, you lazy nit
2. Get a Hype Man

Who is an online meeting hype man? This is the person tasked with answering any open questions immediately and authoritatively.

Is someone's sound working?
Is someone's video playing?
Is someone present in the meeting room?
Are participants ready for a break?

Don't wait ten seconds or more for a participant to find their mute button and actually contribute something. The Hype Man will provide an answer, and the meeting can proceed.
