Cars You Come Back To
What cool ones do you all revisit?

@tripper There's a few but speaking of old brass era stuff.
This just looks so cool and steampunkish.

@tripper idk about the whole, "cars" thing but I think about this on a semi regular basis

@tripper This sold at auction over a decade ago (brought a mere 6K or so IIRC), old ad is still up, now and then I look at it just to take in the color combo, that interior:
This sat on a somewhat hidden MB classifieds site for what seemed like ages. Finally wound up at BaT, where it brought about 10% under the classified site asking price. This one too does a little something for me, maybe as it is such a preservation piece:
Although neither car will make anyone rich, I think both were well-bought.

Bike inner tubes on exhaust pipes are best pipes. I revisit this.

@tripper strange choices, but the early 2000s Jaguar XJ8 in light metallic blue with a cream interior and the second gen Lexus IS250 Sport (not F-Sport, regular sport).
Jag was like this:
I looked at one before I got my Lexus GS300. It was mint, but high miles (170k). I knew it was on the verge of dying but it still. At $2000 I still beat myself up for walking away, even if it was the best choice for my wallet.
Lexus is a strange choice, but it’s the exact type of car I needed and still want. Quiet, comfortable, reliable, with a great audio system and heated/cooled seats. It was an 09 or 10 with 110k miles. It had 2 owners, garaged its entire life as there was no headlight haze or cracking and the dashboard wasn’t sticky. It was RWD with the sport suspension so it was actually pretty fun to sling around and the 2.5 V6 meant good fuel economy, around 32 highway. All that from a Volvo dealership for only $7000 (pre-Covid). Instead I wanted more power and ended up getting my Infiniti G37 which was fun, but too needy and inefficient. I’d likely still have the IS250 if I had gotten it, or if not, something a lot nicer than my Xterra (which I love, but it’s a proper hoopty).
They’re far from the most Oppo choices, but I think about them a lot, probably because they were attainable to me at some point.
@dtg11 I dunno that Jag is pretty flippin Oppo. That's my favorite modern Jag that isn't the F type.
I Helped one of my buddies buy an IS just like that and he absolutely loves it!

@tripper That blue Z is very nice. I'm a fan of mods that make a car go faster, this example appears to have started from a pretty beat to death chassis so modifications are welcome and it turned out very nice. I would ad bumpers and a font air dam otherwise it is a good driver. That engine set up is probably in the 225-250 HP range so the car is going to be very very fast.
