Tactrix OpenPort 2.0 + SSM4 = One Awesome Diagnostic Tool

While I have no immediate need for a code reader and diagnostic tool, it's always great to have one available. I have used FreeSSM in the past, but support in vehicles beyond 2009 has been limited in my experience, and it only covered the ECU and TCU (if equipped). I have been on the search for a reasonable replacement/solution, and instead found the holy grail!
SSM stands for Subaru Select Monitor, and is diagnostic tool used in Subaru dealerships. There have been several versions over the years, with SSM4 having been released around 2016. While SSM4 was really intended to be used only with the Denso DST-i, it turns out with the appropriate driver the Tactrix OpenPort 2.0 (or knock-off from Ali Express) is supported within the SSM4 software.
The SSM4 software can be found online if you look around... and that's all I have to say about that...
Do I recommend anyone go out and try this? Of course not! I'm just posting this for the curious (like me).
I'm still exploring what is possible with this setup. So far I figured out full system scans (I wouldn't have guessed there were 30 modules), and live data monitoring. I actually discovered stored hidden fault codes from the time I accidentally crashed the head unit (it turns out the head unit does not like you driving off without your phone after it is connected via bluetooth...).
The live data monitoring is what I find the most fascinating, and something that I will likely be digging into more as time goes on.
