Its our daughter's spring break and my job out a two week hold on all meetings, so we packed up and drove to Florida to see my wife's family.
The drive went better than I expected, though I expected misery. We left virginia at 8pm, got to my sister-in-laws at 10am the next day in Tampa. Kids were great, it really wasn't that bad. Finger's crossed for the drive home, and in having bug remover sent so it's waiting for me (recommendations welcome).
We got to see my nephew, born right before covid last January. We thought we give him time to build up an immune system before bringing our kids down, but then the pandemic hit so this was the first time we've seen him. We're at my wife's grandmother's now, who was out of the hospital recently. We'll bounce back up to tampa on Friday, and trek back home Saturday night. Wish us luck.

@cash-rewards Welcome to Florida! Hope you have a wonderful visit and safe travels.
@jminer yeah, it's been a good long while since we've seen this part of the family. Beginning of this year, all of last year, and however long back into 2019 that it was. October, I think? So a good 18months since we've seen them.
Welcome to Florida! My wife did the reverse of your drive 2 weeks ago, going from Tampa up to VA with 2 of our kids to visit her relatives. It's a long drive.
