Surprising Vanity Plate Options in Oklahoma
AkioOhtori last edited by AkioOhtori
The other day I was debating getting a vanity plate for the Discovery. While not a huge fan of them, since Oklahoma created a online availability checked, I find myself more apt to use the system as the old method was "write a check and hope." Though this system I ended up with the SAAB and JAAAAAG personalized plates.
Anyway, I hopped on and checked. Unfortunately, DISCO, LANDY, and ROVER were all unavailable. So I started checking less obvious stuff.
My first big score was GASKET, which is apparently available. That is... tempting. Also while the plate "IM LOST" wasn't available, "SO LOST" was.
Equally, available were SENDMAP, NEEDSVC, CHKENG, SVCSOON, HALP, 4-SLOW, TRAIL4X, and DIFFLCK.
Surprisingly available were MANUAL, FIVE, and 5SPEED, the former two being maybe tempting for the Volvo and the latter just interesting. (6SPEED was taken)
The plate NULL is also available, but based on this guys experience with it, I think I'll pass.
So here I am... looking at personalized plates deciding if I want to care.
I will say I don't really like the Jag's. It is a fun joke, but also I drive like an asshole in that car and an asshole plate seems like it makes it worse. But it is OK because I've got a JAAAAAAAAAAG.
CHKENG is good!
I think I'm getting one for the SS - the kids are on my case!

6SHIFT, A6SPEED, ROWYRGR are all available.
That is, however, the most annoying way to check for availability. Software developers really need supervision.

@just-jeepin at least they can check online. Here we just have to send in an application and hope it isn't taken basically.
@fttohg Yeah that was our old system

I'm tempted to get REPROB8 but I don't think anyone knows that word.
@old-busted-hotness The lady at the DMV would definitely have to look it up.
@davesaddiction Just discovered "OPPO" is available so... you know what you have to do.
@akioohtori Oh my...
My kids have already decided OZZIE is too perfect, unfortunately: we’re Cards fans and already have a dog by this name after Ozzie Smith, and my new car is from the land of OZ.
I do need a new OPPO sticker, though!

I feel your missing an obvious one.
Or even 'LRDISCO', 'LANDIE', 'RLOVER' or ROLOVER' (roll over), 'LROVER', 'LANDRVR', 'LNDRVR',

I've always wanted 37OH55V but have yet to own a car worthy of such a plate. Maybe if I ever get my hands on a yellow 993 911...
@svend Oh nice. I haven't seen that. Sadly 4x4xFar isn't available, though the rest are.
Right now "4-SLOW" is winning in my mind, but "OPPO" and "why do you need another plate to worry about" are winning.
