2022 Civic Type (Rendering)
-
Thing looks like a crossover on lowering springs. I mean yeah, it's more refined which is good and keeps a manual and such but jeez these things are big.

UPDATE: Apparently this is just a hasty rendering apologies.
-
I like that a lot.
Okay Subaru, you're up next. Give us the WRX hatch back.
-
The front end isn't nearly as angry as most modern cars, which is nice.
-
They can't really call it a hot hatch anymore when it's now the size of a 3-series
-
-
Well, as long as it doesn't have 356544 fake vents all over it, I'll like it more than the sci-fi rocket bunny that is the current model.
-
Hopefully they'll offer it with a DCT. There's definitely demand for it.
-
On a separate note: I hate how there's been menial body differences between the sedan, hatchback, and (deceased) Civic coupe. They're all fastback'ish, just with ever so slightly varying slopes. And a couple more doors. I had gotten into the habit of calling all of them a grand coupe, out of spite.

That is a render (made with the bare minimum of effort) so don’t base too strong of an opinion off of it. I hope the hatchback has a better rear end treatment than that. As with the current Type R, the looks are polarizing and don’t matter anyway, it’ll probably be brilliant to drive.
@AestheticsInMotion I’m with you, but don’t get your hopes up, this is all that’s been spotted so far:
-
@poor_sh Looks audi-esque. I like it. Hopefully they ditch that stupid rear middle seat delete.
-
@daswauto I'm getting 9th Gen Civic/2nd Gen Mazda6 vibes from that rear end.
-
That looks much less embarrassing than the outgoing one. You could almost drive it as an adult with an office job without getting disapproving glares from everybody that sees you near it.
