Man, what a world do we live in when a 300 HP, RWD, 6sp manual car somehow gets joked about....

@musashi66 the small motor pony cars have always taken a beating
-
@tripper True, and for a reason, back in the day. But today, when the V6 makes the same HP as the V8 did 10 years ago, while being nimbler, the hate is not really justified.
DOn't get me wrong - I wouldn't get one next to the 2.3L Turbo and the Coyote option, but the performance specs are probably as good as some ungodly expensive Porsche 911's from a few decades ago.

They sound nice though with the right exhaust.
-
Which transmission, manual or auto?
-
@musashi66 at 3700 lbs or whatever they are now, I'll take the big motor (or the turbo like you said) but probably the V8. If I have to have a big fat car, lemme get that torque. Performance be damned, I can't see a 964/930/993 and a modern v6 Camaro at the same time, like even in my brain.

My sister's car is an excellent example of what you speak. 2016 V6/manual. It is a 300hp sports car that she bought for $23k brand new. While I would've opted for a turbo 4 or V8 with the performance pack, it is a legitimately good sports car for surprisingly little brand new money.
-
@musashi66 this is true, and, honestly, I'd take one over the turbo. I have the 2.0 EcoBoost in my company Escape and am really not a fan of it. I'd expect the bigger and more powerful one in the Mustang to be better, but it's just left a sour taste in my mouth.
Of course, until Ford figures out how to get paint to stay attached to metal, it's all academic anyway, since I won't consider any Mustang.

My 2011 V6 Mustang is the one that got away for me. Had unfixable transmission issues and Ford took it back after a year but that was a GREAT car. The base model, no frills, for some reason had the comfiest cloth seats I've been in. I went from 140hp to 305hp, automatic to manual, 02' to 11' in tech, and FWD to RWD. Bought it cash too. I'm very very glad to have spent the time and money on my subsequent 14' Mustang GT, 14' Cayman S, and 99 Miata.... but if I could have that back for cheap as a daily I would do it
-
@musashi66 A good one.

Yeah - it's all tongue-in-cheek
You could insert almost ANY car in there and it would still be funny....
All joking aside, I'd drive on if I found a great deal on it. No hate here

@trivet change the car reference to any shitbox and spread on the interwebs

Yeah, should have been a Prius - then everyone could hate on it guilt free!
