@Wrong-Wheel-Drive I will definitely keep this in mind! Short term my plan is to just bring the whole assemblies from the other shell into this one (they're in fine condition, a bit rusty but not blown out or anything) but once the dust settles I'd like to get a known-quantity fresh set in there; currently they're KYB cartridges and I think stock-replacement subaru springs but I'm not entirely sure.
@HoustonRunner My old one that spent its life in NH has more fading on the seats than this one from TN/AL. The tint definitely make a difference, but I hate driving a car with tinted windows at night. This is also faded to purple and looks like crap (and the rear window is bubbly). I've considered the stuff they make that doesn't block visible light but stops all UV/IR - haven't ever made it to the point of acting on it, though.
@orneryduck Maybe 1/4" but in 22ga at thickest sheet. Not exactly something you (well at least I) can just close up with weld. It's also up against tarry goop-stuff which will immediately contaminate the weld if I don't come up with some way to clean it out a bit first. The holes on the other side are a bit bigger, one fairly oblong (looks like they missed and just kind of tore it a little).
@Old-Busted-Hotness I deal with enough of that shit (and trying to prevent it) at work. Fortunately these two cars were manufactured 3 months apart, absurdly early for the model year (01/01 and 04/01 for MY '02) so I doubt there's much variation.
