@HFV_Junkyardin oh man, the ti expedition north and the waterbury autos are two very good looking watches. most variations of the q don't really do it for me, but honestly, timex has been on an absolute heater lately with their releases and re-releases and with their prices what they are, theyre very compelling.

@ttyymmnn get a nice leather one for your skx and swap them out when the mood strikes. i wore mine with a suit every day, itll be fine.

@Old-Busted-Hotness Yeah, that's too short. I've had a couple of quartz watches (in fact, all Seikos or with Seiko movements) over the years and the batteries have always lasted multiple years for me.

@kiltedpadre It occurs to me that the batteries also died and at that point I had a more "adult" and "respectable" watch, so... I did keep some of the more interesting watch bits though.

@HFV_Junkyardin I think a super compressor is the best all-rounder—possible to dress it up a little more than a traditional dive bezel. My daily is a Longines Legend Diver. Tough, sporty, and still looks good with a suit.

I know it was mentioned as the source of a camping tub from one episode and am fairly sure that’s where his polar suit is from in another.

My usual daily watch is a TicWatch Pro. But when I'm not in the mood for a smart watch, I wear a MVMT Chrono. I know they're a fairly new company, but I've been satisfied so far.

To this day, most of my activity/specialty shoes are from before 2010. Some are pretty worn out. But I just struggle to justify replacing them when there's things I actually want to spend money on I could be buying

I’ll get around to posting something similar sometime… maybe once my latest purchase arrives. I’ve owned a couple of vintage pieces but this is the first one that’s older than me.

@dejock Yep, positive on the Instinct Solar 2 for $260-$300 -- the deals are rare and usually short, but using the SlickDeals app/site, you can get alerts. It's usually from BuyDig, Adorama, or another retailer you wouldn't normally associate with watches.

I always take my watch off to shower and sleep, so even if I had better battery life, I wouldn't use the sleep tracking function. However, my watch charges fully in under 30 minutes, so if you're semi-diligent about it, it's really not much of an annoyance. I think it gets overblown in the reviews because people are comparing apples (haha) and oranges with these two watches. Coming from a completely neutral place, I have seen a lot of anti-Apple bias in some of the comments, as well as from my hardcore ultrarunning friends. It's easy to hate them, I did it for years, and I still don't use their laptops, ecosystem services, iCloud -- I just have a few of their products because they're easy and predictable.

I were capable of running 100 miles, I would buy a Garmin...because the Apple would be dead in about 6 hours with active GPS tracking 🙂 And I'd probably be flat on my back calling 911.
