@pip-bip A 240 was my first car, so I have a tremendous soft spot for them. That being said, I have always thought these were ugly. I just think they got the windshield angle, the side windows, and the proportions wrong.
They list velocity in km/h, but force in pounds. I had to look closely to see the "Volvo Canada" tag at the bottom of the ad. With the age of the ad, it probably lines up with when Canada was switching to metric, so it makes sense to me now.
@pip-bip -- Wow, I've never seen one of those, only the Checker equivalent, the Aerobus. Turns out, though, that there's a long tradition of making things like this out of both Chevy cars and (somewhat more sensibly) Suburbans.
I gather that a company called Armbruster-Stageway (whose origins date back to when they made actual stagecoaches) usually did the deed. They're still around, but more focused these days on your last ride.
Meanwhile, in America: "The suspect was initially found unresponsive just minutes after being handcuffed and placed in the back seat of a Porsche 911, a violation of his 8th Amendment rights. His lawsuit alleges that he lost 80% of the use of his legs."
