Michigan was the superfund site of the midwest due to it being the New Jersey of the midwest. Meaning that huge amounts of waste were being dumped in rural areas all over the state, due to the lack of witnesses...
My favorite was a stolen semi that was being driven at about 15 mph on a freeway in the Detroit metro area. The Police got a bit of a surprise when it slowed down to a crawl as the driver was about to join his passenger in the afterlife. To make a long story short, the semi, trailer, driver, passenger, and tow truck were all buried in the same toxic waste landfill where the PCB-contaminated cattle were buried. I don't know what they did with the barrels of toxic waste in the trailer, which made the load so deadly when they leaked and started a chemical reaction inside...
