@rctothefuture I told him he has my dream job. He brushed it off saying it's not as easy as it looks. He's a very humble and smart guy.

@fractalfootwork I dunno, it feels very lazy to me as pretty much a visual 'facelift' of the last generation. Even P38 had more merit on the grounds of appearance in terms of advancing the breed.

Also, I get Haval vibes from the rear end which is not to say that it's ugly, but it certainly doesn't read as 'Range Rover' to me:

IMO the loss of the square taillight that integrates into the side swage line is a massive oversight which was a huge part of Range Rovers' character:

They could get really badly rusted if you weren't forward thinking about it. Mostly because of poor quality rubber seals and grommets in relation to the Australian sunlight.

On the other hand, I found mine to be the mechanical equivalent of a cockroach.

@baconsandwich o yea. This was right at the time when Ford was selling JLR. The sale happened in 2008, and the Evoque and Explorer showed up a few years later. I don't know the details of the design programs, but I feel like Ford "borrowed" from Land Rover. The Evoque was the spearhead for a new Range Rover language that propagated through the entire RR range, while the Explorer was a one-time design, and they've since moved on.

I think it's cool, but I do appreciate lowered trucks even though it's not something on-brand for a LR.

@ermahgerd Indeed. The part over the dead pedal looks specially heinous, as it seems to extend just past the pedal. I also can't get over the construction method. I've seen messed-up DIY cabin soles on boats that look better than that.
