Aftermarket grille, garbage paint and an orphaned 85 HP turbo diesel that was well known for being unforgiving if maintenance was lacking....and that was in the context of the 200Tdi engine that came after it!
If it can be had for the sort of coin that allows for an engine upgrade, new firewall and paint...it'd be OK. Otherwise, nope.
@pip-bip It doesn't look like the inflator fired fully. This probably wasn't triggered by the sensors. I'm guessing something else happened. The igniter could have been partially triggered by the vibration. Either the camera mount was very loose or there was something else wrong with the car making it shake like that.
@pip-bip Honestly, if something like this is available next summer when I'm actually ready to shop for a car, I would have to at least check it out. If it really is mechanically sorted out but just dirty and scruffy, that would suit me fine. And yeah, it may end up being a disaster, but when you're old and stuck in some plastic self-driving monstrosity, do you really want to tell the story of the old Alfa you almost bought? Or the sure-to-be countless stories of the Alfa you once owned?
@pip-bip Ooh, I recognize that scene! I've never taken the train, but it's quite striking to see the railroad running up on the side of the notch.
Here's me going through last winter right after passing the station where they start the trains:
You can't see the track, but it runs parallel to the road through the pass there, and then cuts off to the right to run high along the mountainside.
@just-jeepin That's cool. The rust in the cab corners looks pretty bad and I was going to say that the tyres must be a million years old, but they look Russian, so maybe not. I like the big PTO winch hanging off the side of the chassis.
My memory of the CT motor mount is that it's a long way back and not that substantial. That's why there is an underslung frame on @functionoverfashion and @Vondon302 bikes and, on my modified bike, a brace from the engine head to the down tube.
It certainly helps to keep the engine in place when racing and landing jumps...
