@hammerheadfistpunch The old timers in my neighborhood were big HAMers. My house had an antennae installed when I first moved in and there were three other very big antennae on the block. I removed the antenna, but there’s still some electronic doodads installed in my attic. The old guys have all died and now I wish I’d left my antenna up, since I’m now one of the old timers (scary thought since I’m only 34).
My grandfather had a HAM setup in his house with a huge antenna strung up in the big oak in the back yard. After he passed, one of my uncles inherited the equipment and got his HAM license. I've thought about it, but I think I have enough hobbies and not enough need to put energy into it. Maybe when I get really old and we move way out into the country again.
