I've noticed the French, Dutch, German, Polish, Italian, Spanish and Turkish 'fizzy' drinks are a lot less gassy that ones made and sold here in the U.K.
I like less gassy, the only 'fizzy' drink I've noticed from here that is less gassy is Fanta Twist.
@beefchips ham and the entomology is pretty convoluted. Ham is the rear leg of the pig. Fresh ham is what I started with which is fresh or uncured. Cured ham, which is what we all think of when we say ham, is what I would end up with after brining in salt/ sodium nitrite after a few days.
Hopefully, because I injected it with the brine, it will have time to at least get the texture of ham over just roast pork...but we’ll see.
@musashi66 Little bit of both. I don't think anyone liked the sauce. It was made properly just not our taste. The fritters could have been made better for sure, but not bad for a first attempt. There was beer in the batter and the kids didn't like the taste of that. I was surprised how strong the beer taste was myself. I'm not a beer drinker and I just randomly picked one because it had a bicycle on the can. Turns out it was a pretty strong tasting beer.
I had one for a snack last night without the sauce and it was OK. Probably wouldn't bother with that specific recipe again but will likely try something similar in the future.
If you like morello cherries, you'd lurve this.
It's like they pureed a mass of cherries and added a touch of cream to it.
It's amazing and it's just a stores own brand ice cream, not some quirky B&J, etc... flavour.
I'll share my chocolate chip M&M cookies (basically a Monster cookie recipe I found but made it without oats and raisins ) I make them with peanut butter M&Ms
1 ½ sticks unsalted butter (melted or very soft)
1 cup light brown sugar
¾ cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
3 cups all purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
¼ teaspoon salt
1 cup chocolate chips
1 cup M&Ms. Regular, peanut butter, etc
Soften butter. In a large bowl cream butter, brown and granulated sugar until smooth for 1 minute. Add the eggs and extract. Mix until combined.
Add the flour, baking soda, and salt. Mix until combined. Fold in the chocolate chips and M&Ms. Refrigerate dough for 15 minutes or longer.
Set oven to 375. Line baking sheet with parchment paper.
Using a scoop or hand place balls of dough on sheet.
Bake for 8 – 12 minutes or until edges are golden brown.

@svend I mean you could try and get my cat to love you... but that might be life risking. She does not like other living things... especially anything bigger than her. A mouse, no cares given. A human baby, no cares. A toddler, she pays attention and lots of side eyeing goes on. A 6-7 year old... she goes full on big-game huntress. A dog... god help the thing. Best to intervene before she sees it. 110lbs Newfoundlander did not come out well from that interaction. And if anything runs from her... claws and teeth, so many sharp points. So. Many.
