@doodon2whls said in TFW you fly a Flight Demo with Two F-16's...:

I was instructed by the tower to extend my inbound downwind leg for inbound F-16 traffic in front of me

"Ah Tower this is GhostRider requesting a fly by." "Ahem, Cessna GhostRider."

@facw said in Delta Pilots Vote To Authorize Strike:

they don't have to side with management.

In the case of airline pilots, management will win. Delta is trying to delay until the economy gets worse so they can get concessions.
When all else fails, the management will force bankruptcy to "reset" labor.
Government spent tons of bucks propping up the airlines. They're not going to let the "greedy pilots" mess up air travel..

@Peter_Black Gotta go pumpkin spice for fall.
Although according to the rules (which I was reading with a view to bending - dammit no bungees) all participants must wear helmets and life jackets provided by the organizers although I swear I've seen plenty of helmet based costumes so maybe there's an approved list...

Congratulations—got my private pilot certification, SEL and SES about a decade ago. Haven’t flown since kiddos came along, but get to the Redbird simulator every few months. Hope to jump back in a few years down the road.

Sure others have better tips, but simulators (including Flight Simulator) are a great (and much less expensive). practice tool. Also, there’s a ton of great resources out there with the FAA and AOPA (you should become a member) for building your skills online. Finally, if you ever get lost—oh, say on your first solo cross country navigating with just dead reckoning—remember that pretty much every small town has a church and a water tower. Just fly there and you can usually read the name of the town on the water tower (not that I’d know).

So they're going to strike, is that the issue? Seems like Poland might want to go ahead and pay these folks, given the Ukraine situation. Of course, I have no idea how the air traffic control industry works - but it seems like we need to pay these people very well. Critical infrastructure and all.......

My son said that he'll be flying a 787 to Ireland in a couple of weeks. Should be a nice flight.

1000 miles? No way. The flip point is somewhere around 500 miles.

I agree, commercial air-travel (or any public transportation for that matter) sucks. You aren't in your own space. Then there is delays, cancellations.
