@ITA97 Damn, that one hit me right in the feels. I was blessed with two daughters that love baseball. They had me out pitching to them last weekend in 100+ temps. My oldest got a foul ball and was featured on the Jumbotron this season so the baseball gods are already smiling favorably upon her.
Some of my best memories growing up are playing and going to games with my dad and brothers.
Also, that’s the bassist from Propagandhi. Great band. I kick off all my summers with “How to Clean Everything”.
@farscythe Y'know, when I clicked, I was actually expecting this to turn out to be the alphanumeric name of some kind of new Mercedes, and I was going to make fun of how it sounds more like a "six liter GTR". Pleasantly surprised!
@MidEngine i hear you on the retirement thing...in my job im supposed to retire and go live on my pension at 65...which is still nearly 30 years away from me
i dont think theres still going to be a pension by the time i hit 65
the whole system we have in place where effectively the workers pay for the pensioners and the workers after them pay for them once they become pensioners is going to collapse
pensions were never intended to be collected for 30+ years...and theres not enough young people to offset that
not much i can do about it....winning the lottery sometime in the next 30 years would be nice tho
I like the sentiment.
Though most pubs have been more gastro for a good 20+ years. You have to go off the beaten track to find a greasy cafe for proper no frills grub now.
If I see another pub meal with a pile of rocket, etc... I'll throw it out the god damned window.
Stop serving scampi in a lined basket, mushy peas in a little dish, etc... take your salad, put it on a side plate, then leave that side plate in the kitchen.
