@mark-tucker Ah, but you're forgetting the genius behind Ford's locking mechanism. If these motors freeze up it's not just the power locks that don't work; they're linked up in such a way that the lock won't work at all. The manual lock and the power lock work two sides of the same lever. So the only way to get a working lock is to replace or eliminate the actuator.

For now, it's eliminated.

@vincentmalamute Yes! That is unacceptable, I totally agree with you. I've been pretty fortune with the few companies I have hired for various things. I think growing up in the trades has helped me develop a good BS detector for the incompetent boobs who unfortunately populate the trades en-mass.
