@carsoffortlangley my parents almost bought one. I remember riding around in it when the dealer gave them a over night test drive.
My mom didn’t like how tall it was, and said it felt like an old ladies car. She bought a manual Focus wagon instead, with the optional 2.3l motor too. Definitely not an old ladies car.
@davesaddiction Pissed-offedness can be a good motivator.
Definitely made some pretty radical changes to the original, some based on just dimensional requirements, some more stylistic; I'd always wanted it to have that Shelby-esque W I D T H, but that solution was very tacked-on, 2002, style-at-the-time way of doing it. It's tough to get the front of the wheelarch to jive well with the rear side of the arch, and I'm not sold on how I did it on this, but at this point it's as modeled as it's gonna get.
@streetsofperth Thanks! Yeah, the original sketches (like all sketches) are by hand, regardless whether analog or digital. Thanks for checkin in; I'd say that things around here havenn't improved much. Still searching for work, and the kiddo starting back to in-person school during a massive virus surge.. days aren't easy.
But I've been keeping myself occupied whenever I have time, learning Blender, and trying to (re-) develop this Cobra design, including an interior, so that if I can land another project like the ekranoplan, I'll save myself a TON of pain.
