@streetsofperth@Dr-Zoidberg I saw this in my Twitter feed this morning. It gives circumstantial evidence of what might have happened. For some reason, people seem to think that the best place to watch floodwaters is from the middle of a highway bridge.
@farscythe Honestly, that may have been the worst race I have ever watched. I get the history, but they either need to radically redesign that course (probably impossible), have different cars for the race (F1 should turn it into an IROC race and just supply everyone with the same model cars!), or take it off the calendar.
@skyfire77 Decent job ditching it - looks like minimum speed and fully held-off for the best chance of minimizing the chance of injury and minimizing damage. Looks like the pilot chose his priorities in the right order for an off-field landing: 1 avoid injury to others, 2 avoid injury to self, 3 avoid damage to other's property, 4 avoid damage to aircraft. Far enough away from bystanders and yet close enough in to shore to maximize the chances of help and ease the recovery.
Volvo's older tan/beige interiors used to age like milk
That fact is well established, which is why this one caught me off guard. Most of these interiors didn't look that good 5 years ago and some looked worse 10 years ago.
We have a trusted Volvo Indie and I'm going to try to convince them to get a PPI as they plan on going to see it this weekend if it hasn't sold. Considering the Volvo that was totalled easily had its worth spent on repairs every two years of its ownership at least, I'm dumbfounded they're even considering one.
And good catch on the headlight. I'll mention that to them.
