I've worked from home since 2001, nothing new for me. In normal times I visit customers regularly, but that's been on hold for the last two years, replaced by Teams calls. I've had job offers in the past that stipulated I was expected to go to an office daily, hard nope.
My new employer has a strict policy, no vax no employment. No excuses.
Wife is a program manager for IT projects, she was told she can WFH permanently. She's thrilled!
There are two most common newspapers, The Sun, which has what's called a 'page there's in that on page three is a topless woman with a comment on something news related like.
The Sunday Sport, at least used to, have loads of topless woman dotted around the newspaper.
Just a newspaper for pervy idiots.
Say what you will about the actual method, but I find something charming about this initiative. I guess like any grass roots initiative where, at the heart of it, there are people with a genuine concern for their community.
It certainly is getting people talking. Although perhaps you and I aren’t the target audience lol
Organising #1 is a priority for the coming week. M'lady gets hers on Tuesday (another 250 km round trip for 5 minutes of stabbing).
You’re 250km from a vaccination facility? Do tell….
Not exactly. The GP in town can offer Astra Zeneca but was a) booked out till August and b) now the AZ is not recommended for under 60's. Nearest Pfizer (the only other available alternative) stabbing venue is in the nearest NSW Health clinic...which is 125 km away...and Pfizer is in very short supply in Oz now because Federal government procurement is frankly, fucked.
I could probably get an AZ stabbing but I'm not sure if the local GP is entirely willing to operate counter to health advice...
Just signed up my 15-year-olds today. Couldn't get them on the same day, though, but no big deal. First kid gets jabbed tomorrow. We've got family coming for my oldest's HS graduation in two weeks, so now everybody at the house will be either fully vaccinated or have had at least one shot. Party's on.
Got my 2nd dose of Moderna on Friday. I was ok until noon on Saturday, and then I got the full treatment. Mild fever (that didn't feel mild), chills, headache, complete lack of energy.... But Sunday morning I woke up feeling completely normal.
I got progressively worse all day today. Very much flu-like overall feelings. Slept most of the afternoon - 12-6ish. Wife brought me food at 6:30, ate, fell back asleep somewhere around 7, woke up at 8:15 all sweaty - but like hot, no fever chills. No more aches, no pain (arm doesn't even hurt!), headache mostly gone, nose barely running, lymph nodes not swollen. Just boom over it. Really wild and a bit freaked out honestly. I'll take it though.
I quite like that as a small home, down stairs bedroom and bathroom.
Kitchen and dining area at one end with elevated decking coming out, living room in the upstairs, and master bedroom at the other end with a small balcony.
Add some skylights, job done.
Take care at work fella.
