I pushed him haha. It's really cool but it needs things here and there. They all seem kind of small niggly things, the actual suspension, engine, transmission and brakes of the car seem really good, really solid.
One day I'll see if he'll bring it out but his work schedule is like a month on one week off right now and he works live aboard offshore.
@beefchips My initial idea was to only change output square wave every 100ms and average all speed pulses arriving in that period, but i just needed this functional and in the car to check if it will even read the speed signal reliably 🙂
@jminer Thanks! going above 12v can overwork the voltage regulator built into the UNO board i read, and cars get up to 14v with a healthy alternator. The reason for wanting to feed it 12v was to ensure it can output the full 5v on the pins, but i'm not sure if that's an issue anymore now i switched to using tone() for output.
Initial tests will be done via USB power and i can just leave that with either usb charger or a step-down like you linked, yes.
@streetsofperth It is only the two of us, and the dogs are not allowed in the Abarth. With the back seats down, I can go to Costco and bring back 2x 35lbs bags of food, packet of water, watermelon, cantaloupe, box of garage lights, packets of strawberries and blackberries and blueberries and raspberries, packet of cherries, bananas, bag of green beans, box of vitamins, and my gym bag - with room to spare. That was my load at Costco last night. I have a ton of room in the front too, zero issues for my 6ft 200 lbs frame.
I might splurge and buy the rear seat delete, but my biggest concern is where the heck do I store the rear seats if I remove them. Deleting them creates a cavernous space behind the front seats, and I am honestly not sure if I even need that much space.
As for the BMW, even their base model engines have plenty of pep. I am confident they underrate all of them.
