Had the standard cab version of this truck in college, only 2-3 years older and carburetted. It ran like a top, started when it was -30F out (the reason I bought it, actually; I was car shopping in bitter cold weather in Duluth, MN) and got me through a really awful period in my life without skipping a beat. I only sold it because of the bad memories tied up in it; the truck itself was amazing. Beat to shit, but still amazing.
This one, with fuel injection and the King Cab... I'd never need anything else. I'd almost give up my Chevy for one of these, or an early D21 with the same spec. Almost.
@pip-bip Regular two door Impalas are fun, but the rare bubble tops are sought after because of their looks even though they weren't super popular in their day. This one is a rare factory SS 4 speed to boot.
@pip-bip Sweet, original tires and all! I approve of square bodies on Oppo.
Looking at that one I'm debating the bumper guards on my Suburban. We had them growing up, but I think I like the clean look.
Short aside, my mom rear ended a LeBaron convertible in our Suburban back in the day. Put the trunk in back seat (no one was hurt). On the Suburban there was a little scratch on the plastic part of the bumper guard strip. That was it.
