Hey Mister, would you mind shooting me an email? <REDACTED>
Who, me? (I was the last reply before you), or COFL? 🙂
By the way, I removed your email so bots won't find it that happen upon our site, so you might want to send a private message to whichever of us you wanted to receive that message by clicking on our username in this thread on the left, then clicking 'Chat'! 😄
Not trying to be annoying, just don't want you to wind up on any spamlists somehow by mistake! Anything you send through 'Chat' will be private between you and that individual, and you can talk to them that way, or send your email there! 🙂
@davesaddiction can be used for beer chicken. Test smoking birds so I can scale it up for Turkey day. A lot less disappointing and cheaper to fuck up a cheap chicken than a heritage turkey.
Chicken came out ok, but needs work. Luckily I have a spare.1112201227_HDR.jpg
I plan on smoking at 225 until 135 is hit internally, dropping it to 150 until 150 is hit then 450 until 165 is hit. Luckily, I can program my smoker to do all this automated.
@rctothefuture they're pushing more people toward their online services, but haven't added more as far as I can tell. They've really gotten fairly efficient the past few years by themselves believe it or not. We have DMVs and DLDs (drivers license division) which is frustrating if you don't know that and go to the wrong one, but they seem to move much faster when they can focus more on half the tasks instead of everything at one building.
@roundbadge Thanks for that info. I bet that there's going to be a few weeks of weirdly formatted test messages as everyone tries to figure out this new system, but it'll be worth it. We'll experience Stockholm Syndrome as we unlearn all the weird quirks of the almighty Kinja, but it's a small price to pay.
@rallydarkstrike It's General Motors, I love them, but also, what do you expect? Their excuse for not going Chrome was "it updates so often and we can't keep up" You mean, you're a multi-billion (WITH A B!) dollar corporation and you can't keep up with web browser updates? Face meet palm.
@captdale-is-secretly-british It's werid, had it happen twice on my Dad's Vette with an LS1. Never had any issues before either, maybe I messed it up? Can't tell you how anxiety inducing it was to get the call for the second time it leaked...
@carsoffortlangley I had made a bunch of changes to the site last evening, then logged off and was laying bed and brought it up on my phone and it asked me? I said hell yes! I'd love to take credit, but nothing I did triggered that.
You have to upload a very small photo to a host, or just choose a photo from your post and deal with the fact that it's going to be square. I have taken one of my post photos and cropped it square and uploaded it just so I can have some control over how it appears.
I meant more of a solution to prevent it from happening if someone doesn't know any better. Long-term it shouldn't be possible to more or less break the page by linking to a large image - but right now it's pretty low priority.
I have a good feeling if you reread Raph's portion of the eulogy it will seem more than likely Torch lost track of the origin. There are only so many hours in the day and quite a few deadlines to meet. If it really worries you put a small personal copyright* in the bottom right hand corner of anything you share online that might be used without permission. To someone in Jason's position that move renders it unusable or at least requires permission before use.
*This is a very tricky subject you should educate yourself on. Professionals submit and pay for registered protection of their images which is legally enforceable. Individuals rights are more easily lost as you appear to understand.
@rallydarkstrike Good deal. Was hoping that was the case, and that it’s not saving 2 big images on the server when you upload a thumbnail, then upload the same picture to include in the post (wonky from a UX standpoint - but is a nice option at times to have a separate thumbnail that’s not part of the main post, I guess).
I believe the separate thumbnail thing is just how things worked with this NodeBB forum setup and, as it's a bit of a pain to try and change, and we have bigger fish to fry right now in terms of bugs and setup, we just let it be for the time being...
The big thing with thumbnails right now is trying to sort the massive-size thumbnail LINKING. lol
